The Williams FW48, with its distinctive dark blue and black livery, made its debut on the track, with Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz taking the wheel. However, for this initial run, the car sported a special testing color scheme, saving the official livery for its next appearance in Bahrain on February 10th.
Vowles expressed his pride, saying, "This was a milestone day for us. The team's hard work and unity paid off, and we delivered a car for our promotional filming day at Silverstone." He added, "We gained valuable insights for Bahrain, and the drivers provided positive feedback, helping us identify areas for improvement. This is just the beginning; we still have a long way to go."
After the filming day in Bahrain, the official pre-season tests will commence, with the first three-day test starting on February 11th. The team will then head back to the circuit on February 18th for the second test before the highly anticipated Melbourne opener on March 6th.
Albon shared his thoughts, "It's great to finally be behind the wheel of the FW48. We had a smooth day at Silverstone, and now our focus is on Bahrain. We're analyzing the data and getting ready for the start of the season."
Sainz echoed Albon's sentiments, "Today was a special day for the entire team. We got the FW48 on track, and it was a great effort by everyone involved. Now, we're excited to head to Bahrain and dive into more comprehensive run plans."
